Mason Ward is a sophomore at Charles Page High School where he is a member of the school’s golf team. Golf has been a part of Mason’s life for a while and to say he loves the game would probably be an understatement. One of his biggest role modes is one of the most well-known names in sports today.
“Tiger Woods is one of my biggest influences,” he said. “He has been able to bounce back from multiple setbacks, both professionally and personally.”
Throughout his career, Ward has spent a lot of time working on his game and trying to be his best so he can reach a goal he has set for himself.
“There have been many hours of practice on the range and at the golf course,” Ward said. “I try to play as many rounds on as many courses as I can. My goal is to play golf at the collegiate level.”
When he is on social media, Mason enjoys following a lot of different golfers and golf accounts. They all share really good info but he says that there is one that he enjoys following the most.
“Professional golfer, Bryson DeChambeau, is my current favorite follow on social media,” he said. “He posts things about how to get better at golf along with tips to help you succeed.”
During the many rounds of golf that he has played, Mason has had numerous different opponents. Out of all of them, he says that there is one that he enjoys beating the most.
“My dad would have to be my favorite opponent to beat,” he said. “Back in his day, he was a scratch golfer, but now I can beat him and that is really fun. On my Sandite team, I enjoy going up against Seth Benton. We are so much alike and we battle for the one bag spot. Each member of our team is capable of shooting low on any given day. But sometimes it just depends on the elements and how your round is going.”
