After starting the season with five straight wins, Sand Springs football (5-2 overall) has dropped two hard fought games against class 6AII powerhouses and district rivals Booker T. Washington (6-1) and Bixby (7-0).
The Sandites will have yet another crucial district matchup against class 6AII powerhouse Choctaw (5-2) this Friday at 7:00 pm at home.
This high flying Sand Springs team is averaging 35 points per game through seven game, and will need to score a great deal of points against a Choctaw team who is averaging 40 points per game though seven games.
Both Sand Springs (Ty Pennington) and Choctaw (Steele Wasel) have two of the best quarterbacks in the state this season, and it should be a high scoring affair.
Whoever wins on Friday will have the upper hand in playoff seeding come November.
Next up for Sand Springs will be Bartlesville (1-6) and Putnam City (0-7).
