Sand Springs’ Easton Webb
The quarterback plays a central role in directing the offense on the football field. Easton Webb is the quarterback for Charles Page High School in Sand Springs. He is a leader for his team and has built bonds with his teammates that will last a lifetime.
Playing sports has taught him valuable lessons. Now a senior, he is ready to use these lessons as he prepares for his future. “Get used to failing because you will fail at things for the rest of your life, regardless of the situation,” he says. This, however, does not mean he accepts failure. Football builds character, helping Easton push through adversity. “I love the sport because it means it takes grit and that’s something that will help you out later on in life.”
Easton was destined to play football. “I’ve played since I was seven. My dad played football at Oklahoma State University, so it was kind of a given that I give the sport a try. I’ve loved it ever since.” He is inspired by his parents. Easton credits them with helping him grow and become a better person every day.
Baseball is another sport Easton excels at. He wants to continue playing both football and baseball well into the future. “Wherever the sports take me,” he says, is his goal.
Easton has received a lot of advice over the years but one thing stands out. “Work hard for the next 10 years of your life so you can hopefully make enough money to not have to work ever again.” If Easton applies this advice to sports, he could be a player to watch for.
Acknowledging those who supported his athletic pursuits is important to Easton. “I just want to thank my coaches for helping me become the player I am today and my parents for putting everything they have into helping me be in the best position I can possibly be in.”
Easton’s favorite teacher goes back to elementary school. “My favorite teacher has to be Mrs. Carter from fifth grade because me and her were very close.” Regardless of what was going on, “she was always there for me when I needed it,” he says.
The most memorable vacation Easton has ever taken was actually part of a travel baseball championship trip. “My first year of travel baseball, going to Gulf Shores and winning a championship,” he says, was the best vacation ever.
Outside of football and baseball, Easton loves to golf and fish.
