VYPE: How is your season going and what are your goals?
KK: My goals for this season were to progress on my flying skills and to hopefully win nationals. We are halfway through this season and I was able to accomplish new stunts and gain confidence in my flying. We have nationals in less than 3 months and I hope we go out there and do our very best and leave it all on the mat.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
KK: The most fun I have had in the last year is getting to experience nationals as a freshman on varsity cheer and looking forward to competing this year again as a sophomore.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
KK: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Bouchard. She is my 1st hour teacher this year and teaches biology. She has help me with whatever I needed and she has taught me so much about biology. She is always making sure her students succeed in her class. She is always making people laugh and smile. She has been the best teacher I have ever had.
VYPE: Who do you look up to and why?
KK: I look up to my mother and father the most. They have been the greatest role models in my life. My mom has help me with making me strive to be the best version of me in everything I do and she has taught me to be respectful and dependable to others and my team. My dad has taught me how to take constructive criticism from others and made me a coachable athlete.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
KK: The biggest teammate that left the biggest impression on me is my whole team. One person specifically that has made the biggest impression on me is Makayla Murray. She has been the best role model towards me. She has helped me with my confidence and always gives me the greatest advice. She is very respectful towards others and always helps when people need her to. She is graduating in 2023 and I don’t know what I’m gonna do without her.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
KK: My favorite part about being on a team is the friendships I make that will last a lifetime beyond the cheer mat.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
KK: If I could go anywhere for a summer vacation I would go to Bora Bora. I would take my whole family with me and we would stay in those bungalow suites on the ocean.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?
KK: I started cheering when I was 3. I have been on not only recreational cheer but also on competitive cheer. I started to just fall in love with cheer watching all the other varsity cheerleaders out on sidelines and had hoped to be one someday.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
KK: I would like to say thank you to my parents for getting me to and from all the practices and competitions, to my coaches I would like to say thank you for preparing, pushing, and not giving up on me to help me be successful, to my teammates thank you for being my best friends and being there for me when I needed it, finally to my grandparents I would like to say thank you for cheering me on at every game or competition I go to and being there when it counted the most.
