The goal for Charles Page High School senior Dom Forbes in his final varsity football season is clear: help the Sandites pursue another championship while leaving a lasting mark on the program.
“My personal goals this season are to win another gold ball and finish my career as a Sandite,” Forbes said.
As a senior, Forbes understands that success comes from more than individual effort. He points to the coaches who have challenged him, supported him and helped shape his approach to the game.
“A few coaches have inspired me and made an impact on me would be my head coach Bobby Klinck. He keeps it real with us, and never being soft on you. Two more coaches would be Coach Green and my wide receiver coach, Coach Harger for always believing in me and having my back,” Forbes said.
That support has helped Forbes develop a team-first mindset; one he hopes younger Sandites will carry into their own varsity opportunities. His advice reflects the standard required to contribute at the high school level.
“My advice for younger players stepping into varsity for the first time would be, stay focused, go ball out every play, don’t complain or be selfish and most importantly be coachable and have fun,” Forbes said.
Forbes’ connection to Charles Page extends beyond Friday nights. He serves as an office aide and appreciates the people and atmosphere that make the school community meaningful to him.
“I’m an office aid, what I enjoy most about CPHS is the culture, how everyone is loving and there for everybody,” Forbes said.
As his senior year continues, Forbes wants his classmates to embrace the same sense of community and make the most of their experiences at Charles Page.
“My message to the student body of CPHS is, continue being awesome and live life to the fullest,” Forbes said.
He also made sure to recognize a teacher who has made an impact during his time at the school.
“My shoutout is to my History teacher Mr. Cooper. Keep being you, we all love you and remember the joy in life is the journey,” Forbes said.[1]
Forbes is working toward a memorable finish as a Sandite, driven by championship ambitions, appreciation for his coaches and pride in the Charles Page community.
