Sand Springs Sandites
Head Coach: Bobby Klinck
2020 Record: 7-5
DEFENSE
Fundamentals and simplicity is what Klinck believes works best with his defense, being based on a 4-2-5 structure, while still applying pressure when needed. Like the offense, the defense is also returning six players from last year’s squad. Brooks Dudley (5-9, 210, Sr.) and Drake Fain (5-11, 225, Jr.) will line up at the linebacker positions with Dylan Sallas (5-11, 165, Jr.) playing safety. Sallas has a lot of potential, according to his coaches, after cracking the starting lineup halfway through his sophomore season and showing great potential. “Sallas has the ability to be top tier defensive back. Has been working extremely hard for us this off-season,” Klinck said. Playing the defensive end positions are Landon Hendricks (6-4, 200, Sr.) and Gabe Brown (6-1, 230, Sr.), who look to play aggressive and bring pressure while still relying on techniques and the fundamentally sound defense the Sandites are looking for. Rounding out the experienced defense is Alex Turner (5-10, 170, Sr.) who plays the corner back position. Sand Spring’s defense is a huge part in determining how successful they will be.
